A MUSICAL LIFE

After growing up in a musical household listening to jazz and rock, Dean Angermeier composed for and was a member of the University of Michigan North Coast Jazz Ensemble led by Ed Sarath in Ann Arbor.  From there he joined the MTV award winning band The Difference and discovered his pop songwriting, after primarily composing instrumental jazz pieces in his early writing career.

Dean has recorded and performed around the world as a soloist and band member, writing or performing with such artists and bands as the legendary Bo Diddley, Borderline, The Difference, Dig/TopKat, Gunga LaGunga, The Rogue Suspects, Switch Trio, Funking Monkeys with Teri Cote' and Nick Kirby, and Horsefly with Craig Wright. He's opened for diverse acts such as Michael McDonald, Widespread Panic, Peter Frampton, Gov't Mule, The Brubeck Brothers, Robert Cray and
Gretchen Wilson.

Dean is currently producing three album projects from his base in Ashland,  the creative heart of Southern Oregon. He continues to perform globally both as a soloist and as a member and leader of various groups.
